Aquaria

This is the dawning of the age of Aquaria.... the age of Aquaria.... 

...here is a Rick St Dennis delight for you!  This is Aquaria, the mermaid with attitude.  isn't she beautiful?   You'll find her over at etsy, at the Rick St Dennis shop (along with a gazillion other must have beauties and creepies!)....

I've used a white cardbase (seems to be my thing at the moment!) and have used two layers of the same washed blue paper.  Aquaria is on white, but I have used pearlescent blue and green chalks to soften the background.  She is coloured withSpectrum Noir markers, and the sparkly bits are coloured with 'smooshed' glitter pens (smoosh is my technical art word for blending).

Following the image components , I have stitched pearls and seed beads for her jewellery, except for the hip swing.... where I have beaded with artistic licence! I used markers over strips of white tuille, and twisted them before fixing to the image layer, to simulate fishnets (she can't wear stockings!).  I had to dress the corners, and what better than with the treasures of the sea!  More pearls and rhinestones of many colours... I think she likes her bling!  The sentiment is from Create with TLC...
