Song Titles at Glitter Geeks!

This week at the Glitter Geek Challenge Blog, our challenge is  SONG TITLES  ... we challenge you to create taking inspiration from a song title...and there is no shortage of inspiration!

Ingredients: Pale Pink cardbase; Brown Textured Cardstock; Decorative papers; Vintage Image; Lace,  Rhinestones...

This week I chose to create with a vintage image.  After the Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) by Cher, stuck in my head, I went on a hunt for kissy digi images, and couldn't find one that I wanted to use at the time, so I sorted through my vintage photos.  I thought this was a treat!

I gave the photo a border of brown textured cardstock, then a border of lace.  I then created layers with papers.  When all were firmly fixed together, I added the topper to the pink textured cardbase (it is the palest pink!).  Some champagne pink rhinestones finish of the corncers of the photo printed image.

I love vintage images, and wedding images more so.

I hope you'll visit us at Glitter Geeks to see our Design Team's inspiration pieces, and then join us in our Song Title challenge.... Thanks for peepin'!

Buttons, Buttons, Buttons!

I feel like I haven't crafted in a month... so many hours at hospitals out of town.  Why is it that hospitals are so exhausting, even if you're not the patient?  Ugh.  Back to the good stuff. Paper, Ink, and embellishments!

This week at Card Crafter's Circle, we have a fun challenge.... we want you to create with BUTTONS.  One of my favourite embellishments, although really, more of an addiction.  I love buttons. When I run my fingers through a bowl of buttons, I feel like Scrooge McDuck swimming in his Money Bin!

This week our sponsor is... Bugaboo Stamps!  We love Bugaboo! I can't keep up with all the  new releases... my wish list is as long as my arm!   I hope that you'll pop on over to the Card Crafter's Circle blog and check out the design team's fabulous creations... this group never ceases to amaze me!

Ingredients: White Cardbase; Decorative papers; Stardust Glitter Pens; Copic Marker; Paper Twine; Pea Green Rhinestones, Buttons...
I used an image from the AKV (A Kid's View) Earth series.  I love this image, and have had it a while, but never used it... I love it... reminds me of playing with an Earth Ball as a kid at camp, and the song "Whole World In His Hands".  I coloured the image with a Copic and glitter pens, and trimmed it to size. I created three blue  layers and fixed them together.

With a button I had gussied up as our planet earth, I threaded some knotted paper twine through, and fixed it to the image, over the earth he was already holding.  I fixed this layer to the cardbase, then added a vertical embellishment, of a paper strip and paper twin threaded through a buckle button.  To finish, I added rhinestones to the image layer.

This card is entered in the challenges at
PollyCraft #129 Teenage Dream (5/3) (Doesn't every teenager dream of having the world in the palm of their hand? Or is that at their feet?)
Pixie Dust Studio #116 Buttons (8/3)
For Your Inspiration #25 (15/3) Photo Inspiration

I hope you will join us at Card Crafter's Circle and share your buttoned creations with us! Thanks for peepin'!

Still Looney, in absentia, but home...

Wow... finally back home.... what a trip.... Thankfully Becky is recovering well ....she's such a trooper! I'm a wimp, and don't know how she does it!  She had a lot of extractions, but she looks great, now that the swelling is down.  She has a healthy food and drink appetite, and thankfully only wants soft food.... her food sensory issues are working FOR her... YAY!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes for Bec's surgery, and for Dad's treatment.... he has to travel to Sydney next week for a new procedure, hopefully a successful one! SO it's non-stop excitement in every corner of our world.  If only I could find that our unchecked jackpot lotto ticket is a winner! Wouldn't that be super!

I'm almost up to date with emails, and I am so looking forward to getting to crafting again.... it has only been a week without, but it feels like forever!

Looney in absentia...

I'm sorry that I haven't been around this past weed... it has been crazier than crazy.  We've finally got surgery scheduled for my daughter, after messed up schedules, test results, and various trips out of town. It's not time efficient or fun when the hospital and surgeons are out of town (several hundred kilometres), and when they have no concept of distance or special needs... they seem to think that we can appear at their hospital at their convenience, and at any time without preparation....yeah right!

We leave tomorrow, and hope to be back on Wednesday, all things being well.

We've also had news that Dad's new and ongoing treatment can 't be done locally (well, inside 150kms). Oh no.  Instead, he has to travel to Sydney.  Interstate.  Which means a couple of hours in a car, and a plane flight.   All because of hospital bureaucracy, where any post side-effects would mean he has to pay $6,000 for a room. So much for the health system.  The rich get what they need, and the less-financial get stiffed without treatment.  I don't believe that ANY hospital can okay the treatment, but refuse post treatment care. Mind you, they will take on the follow up and continued tests!  So much for a supposed Christian - I guess it just shows that our health system is all based on the dollar, and not about patient care.

Off my soapbox now... I need my morning coffee.  Have a blessed Sunday, everyone!
