Earth Day Blog Hop - Enchanted Inspirations

(my post here will remain at the top of my blog to cover all time zones of participants and visitors!)

WELCOME to my little piece of the Earth Day Blog Hop with Michelle Perkett's Enchanted Inspirations!  Have you just visited Shelley's blog? If so, you're on the right path....  It is always wonderful when people gather together ... even more so when we gather together for a common cause that is so important to our daily wellbeing! And our creativity is just as important, don't you think?

For the Hop, we are to create something using only recycled materials (other than ink and markers/paint). And we had to use some green in our design too.

I recycle a LOT of my crafting stash - hubby calls me a pack rat.  I save wrapping paper, card, ribbons, buttons, beads  anything at all - if it's past its intended use, and I can salvage bits of it, I will.  I even keep buttons and trim from clothing beyond wearing, the fabric too (if I like it!).  My creation doesn't show what we regularly associate as 'recycle' - kraft coloured cardboard, orange string bag, and plastics. But everything on my card (except for the ink, and colouring mediums) has lived a previous life and been reborn to something new, or has served a previous purpose and I am using them again!  Oh hang on.... my printer cartridges are recycled too!

Ingredients Used: Image - Earth (Michelle Perkett), recycled component cardstock, patterned paper (used recycled gift wrap), lace (it's precious life was on lingerie!), organza/silk flower (I coloured this flower with a marker.... it's previous life was in a 70s wedding bouquet!), Bic Mark-Its.

Let it be known that I found it VERY HARD not to use any pearls, rhinestones and new lace!

Although my stop on the hop is a way down the hop, I have the whole list of happy hoppers just in case you missed a visit..... start here: Michelle

Oh, Pauline this is great. I'm also a pack rat and like to reuse anything I can. I even have a pair of old jeans way past being wearable I'm waiting to find something to do with. Your creation is just beautiful.

Beautiful card! it shows you how you can create something special from recycled materials. I'm a pack rat too, can't seem to throw anything in the garbage anymore in case I can find a new use for it, lol!
