Vintage Bonnet

This week our #65 challenge at the Card Crafter's Circle is themed VINTAGE ... get your gorgeous laces and vintage embellishments out!  We are sponsored by the fabuous Floppy Latte Designs, and we got to play with beautiful silhouette images! I created my card using the Love My Striped Bonnet image...

I printed the image on vellum, and printed  a vintage 'blackboard' tag from Lilacs and Lavender.  I decided not to cover the whole tag with the velum image, rather trimming the image layer to fit inside a scalloped frame. But how to fix it down! I used doublesided tape under the face and collar of the image, and then stitched a string of pearls around the outer to hold the image down.... tape would have shown through!  I also added pearls to the corner of the tag, and to the flowers on her hat, clear rhinestones to the centre scallops, and a lingerie bow to the top of the tag.

I trimmed a piece of distressed grey card to fit the white cardbase leaving a thin white edge, and then took a wide white lace and fixed it over the grey.  With that layer fixed flat to the base, I added my tag.

I wasn't sure the black and white palette would be too stark for the vintage theme, but the greenish tinge to the blackboard tag renders it 'not a true' black, and the grey layer softens it too, I think....

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafts and Me: #123 Tag It (12/3)
Sincerely Yours Creations: #3 Mothers Day (13/3)

Dutch Dare Cards: #207 Girls Rule (14/3)
A and T Emerald Faeries: #41 Bling (31/3)

Come on over and join our VINTAGE challenge at Card Crafter's Circle!  Thanks for peepin'!

Polly, this is just plain gorgeous! Love the way you've added the pearls to the hat and around the frame. The lace is such a delicate touch!
