Love Is All Around Us

Hugs all around everyone.... this week our themed challenge at the Card Crafter's Circle is LOVE/VALENTINES!   And to boot, we have two sponsors!  I created two cards using the images from the two sponsors, so I will be splitting my post (not my heart) in two (posts)...

Floppy Lattes Digital Designs ::All Digital All The Time
This post, shows the my creation using images from Floppy Latte Designs... I just adored the Heart image, and couldn't resist the Valentine image as well... the heart image just screamed out 'Layer Me!".... so I did.

I printed the image twice, retaining the whole image for a base layer, then I trimmed the lace edge from the second image. Starting with the whole image,  and using Spectrum Noir markers, I coloured the outer lacy edge. I added it to a layer dotty paper, and fixed it to the white cardbase.  I then fussy cut the heart centre from the second image, and coloured again.  I also added some white charcoal to the crescent accents. Flipping the heart piece, I added a border of gorgeous off white lace.

Turning to my second image, the valentine envelope, I had already printed it thrice (I LOVE that word... so olde world... and sounds so more distinguised than saying 'three times'!) and only a little over an inch high.  I fussy cut each image, and then created a 3D image of the same, by vixing together cut away layers of the same image.  I have only coloured the envelope portion of the image, and the wee heart on the letter.

Now to complete the construction!  I placed the valentine letter in place, and fixed it down.... I then added rhinestones around the lace portion of the full heart image, using the eyelet lace in the image for placement.  Finally, I added the lace-trimmed fussy cut heart on top, using foam tape to lift the layer.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Kaboodle Doodles: Hearts (10/2)
Incy Wincy: Love Is In The Air (11/2)
Tammy's Scrapin Corner: Valentines (11/2)
Dream Valley Challenges: Valentines (15/2)
Sweet Stampin: Love Is All Around (18/2)
