2013 Gratitude Journal Week 6

So our home is  continuing with it's improved atmosphere ... I almost can't believe that we have now had en entire week (and a few days) without any meltdowns and episodes, which have been a daily occurence for s many years.  It's almost too huge to contemplate! Of course new medications and new doctors mean a new schedule of regular out-of-town appointments, but that will be an excuse for coffee at another cafe..

BUt we definitely have reasons for gratitude, in abundance!

If you remember, last week, I was so excited with our new 'household', that I  had created using this week's (week 6) scripture instead of the week 5 scripture.  Instead of confusing myself, I am putting the correct week's creations in the correct dated blogposts (so you may have already seen this creation). If you want to see the creation I have just finished (using last week's scripture Ephesians 5:20), you'll have to pop back to the week 5 blogpost here. So here again is my week 6 creation in the right place, using 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8.

The digi of the Scripture, I have created myself, using 1 Corinthians 13 4-8, from the Contemporary English Version of the Bible.  I think it is beautifully translated, and so clear!

I have used another fabulous vintage era image from Create with TLC.  In keeping with my square based layouts, my image layer is matted only with a single square of tiny floral patterned paper. I created an 8x8 page from a distressed 'damask' pattern, which I thought looked like the sky and sand.  I coloured the image layer with chalks for the background, emulating sky and grass, and the image itself with markers.  I wanted to brighten the flowers with splashes of colour, but they were so tiny, I thought splashes of colour would be best introduced with the addition of other embellishments.... so I have added a ribbon of vine leaves, yes it is actually ribbon!) and paper flowers that I have coloured with SU markers to tone into the papers.  I used wee brown flowers as well, (the rule of three!) to compliment the hand-coloured yellow flowers. After fixing the flowers down, I added buttons to their centres.  Finally, some green pearls were added to the unadorned corners....

Come join us in the hosted challenge at Inspired Stamps (thank you Antoinette!) ...thanks for peepin'!
