Sharing Sad Snowflakes...

Down here in Australia, some of us are well accustomed to celebrating a Christmas in July, just because our winter is in July, and because our December Christmas in our summer... so it was lots of fun to create this week's challenge card for For Fun Challenges in the right season! Although it hasn't snowed yet.  And it probably won't where I live.  Our challenge for you this week is to create with SNOWMEN!

We are always excited to have our current sponsor Dearie Dolls!  Although the Dearie Dolls Shop is closed at the  moment, our Dearie Doll ise still graciously sponsoring our challenges.  But don't despair... go visit the Dearie Dolls blog  and see what is happening .... it's a blog full of freebies!  And they are gorgeous!  Do  leave some love in your comments when you collect the free images, won't you?

I love this image, with his arms outstretched for a snowman hug... in keeping with a snowmanly theme, I created rather white this week...

Ingredients: White cardstock; SU! Markers; Glitter Pens; Clear Glaze Pen; White Pom Pom Ribbon, Green Grosgrain Ribbon; Clear Rhinestones; Rub-on Sentiment...

I'm not really sure why I coloured Snowman's jumper green.... and his hair brown... I've never seen a snowman with hair!   I coloured his garland brown, like gingerbread, but used red glitter pen for the heart. I also used glitter pen for his carrot nose, and his black coal eyes and mouth.  Oh and his scarf.  The snowflakes are clear stardust (clear glitter pen) and then I used clear glaze pen over top to raise them.

I also coloured Snowman with clear glaze pen... so he looks wet and icy.  The ribbon trim is two two ribbons, fixed over top of each other.  It looked so 'in ya face' with the bare green ribbon ontop, I thought I'd add a rub-on ... and how excited was I when I actually transferred the sentiment onto the ribbed grosgrain ribbon without the trouble I was expecting! The we pom pom move sweetly... like flying snowballs, but not as fast.

I adhered the image layer with foam tape to accomodate the ribbons, and added rhinestones to finish.

Sadly this is our last challenge at For Fun, as we close our challenge doors.  Our fabulous owner Helen, is in need of some rest and re-direction, and we hope that after some refreshment she will invite us back again! I hope you'll swing by the  For Fun Challenges  blog and check out the incredible snowman creations the team have created.  And do join in our challenge...and thanks for playing with us in our challenges.... we loved having you! Thanks for peepin'!

I just love your snowman and his green jumper! So sad that For Fun is closing down. I'm off to find a snowman to play with you! Brrr the thought of snow to me isn't too pleasant since the frost have just about finished up for now. I'm still covering my plants at night....just in case!
