Patterned Paper Prevails!

This week, with challenge #4 at Do You Stack Up? we challenge you with Patterns! Create something using as patterns ... paper, ribbon, brads, fabricwhatever you want!!

We have two sponsors ... StitchyBear Stamps  and Black Leaf Designs ... they offered the DT some awesome things to showcase this week, and offer YOU some awesome prizes for playing in our challenge!  I created my card using one of the cupcakes from the Black Leaf Designs Sweet Cupcake Digi Set...

 

Ingredients: White cardstock; Patterned Paper (from a UK magazine freebie set); Markers - Marvy Le Plume; Stardust pen - Sakura; Red Glitter Glue - Papermania...

I printed the image twice, and big - it's around 12cms wide at it's widest.  I cut them out, keeping one image whole, and retaining the centre trim (coloured with black marker, then black stardust pen) and the heart (coloured with red marker, and red glitter glue). I traced and trimmed patterned paper to fit as the icing on top, and the paper cup.  It doesn't show here because of the pattern etc, but I cut the 'cup' larger than needed, and I concertina folded it .... so it does have a little dimension. 

After adhering the patterned papers to the pieces, I assembled the cake, and then fixed it to a white cardbase with the fold on the left - the card base is maybe a milimetre smaller than the whole cake, so it's nicely hidden!
