Patriotic Pride!

Our challenge at For Fun Challenges this week, is to show our patriotic pride!  Of course with Canada Day on July 1st, Independence Day in the USA on the 4th, it's good timing to bring out our colours!  Me, being from Down Under, our flag colours may be red, white and blue, but our national day is January 26.  But we are also a very patriotic nation on Anzac Day, Rememberance Day, and at any international sporting function you can think of! (But look for our Green and Gold!) .....
Here is my card, showing my patriotic pride .... I couldn't decide what theme to use.... our flag, our animal emblems, or floral emblem (wattle), or our green and gold colours.  So, I opted for our flag, and our Slouch Hat... indicitive of ours that serve in our army ranks, for over a century. Coming from a decorated family that has served in nearly all conflicts last century, I get a lump in my throat when I see our service men and women, in ranks.  The gold badge on the upturned brim is referred to as our "Rising Sun" (which I was thinking of as I added the gold stitches)....and on current media releases the phrase is that we "shine under a rising sun".  And we do!

So no matter where you are from, show and share your patriotic pride with us at For Fun Challenges this week! Thanks for peeping!

hugs and blessings,
Pauline

Oh WOW Pauline. You've created a wonderful card! Thanks too for the explanation of your holidays, colors and emblem. My family is also military and my husband is retired from the Army after 30 years. God bless you and those from your country.
