Shamrock Pin

I am so sorry my personal post is late... it should have gone live yesterday, but I've been fighting with Blogger who has been rotating my images when I've been uploading them... no matter what I did, they would not load upright!  Now they do!

It always fascinated me when I lived in the city, that on St Patrick's Day, EVERYONE was Irish, even those with thick and heavy accents, obviously not from Ireland! LOL  Great celebrations though (starting at the Celtic Club, moving on to Bridie O'Reilly's, PJ O'Brien's, The Corkman, Pugg Mahones, and ending at The Quiet Man. Not always in that order, or on the same day/night.  We often liked to start celebrating a few days early (or any time of the year).

This week at Card Crafter's Circle, we are indeed all IRISHEven those who aren't of Irish descent. But I am. For our ST PATRICK'S DAY/IRISH challenge, our sponsor is the fabulous Melonheadz!

I have created with an image "Shamrock Coin".

I use a white cardbase, with matts of green and topping with  white, as it would offer a high contrast for my image.  I decided to create a pin... the image is printed reasonably large, trimmed, and coloured with a green marker, with the coin surrounds being coloured with gold glitter pen. I smoothed the gold pen with my finger, so it isn't solid glitter... it shimmers instead (but doesn't show well here at all).  I then trimmed two strips of ribbons for the tail, and a long strip to gather and secure with DS tape for the rosette surround.

I added a cardboard round on top of the ribbon, so that I had something secure to adhere the fastening pin to, so it can actually be worn.  The Pin is fixed to the white card layer, through two holes and then the pin fastening is closed as normal.  I then added some emerald rhinestones and penned a border in green.

I am also sharing this card at:
