Prayer for Peace

We are decorated in RIBBONS AND BOWS in our challenge for you at Twist of Faith this week! Here in Australia although we are officially in Autumn, we are still dabbling with days of over 30C.  At least the  consistent days of 40 degrees C may be well gone (I hope!).

My card uses an image from our sponsor...
Eureka Stamps - Shamrock (Double Line).

I created my cardbase by folding a 21x15cm die cut journal mat in half.  I couldn't believe my luck at the discount shop when I found a packet of 40 of these, for $2! Doublesided, too!  To show the inner colour, I have only popped out the diecuts of the front side... the pattern continues all the way around the card.  I printed out the Peace Prayer of St Francis of Assisi in brown, and tore it's edges. I chalked it, then ran an alcohol marker along the edge.. the marker bled into the card, and has given a nice burned effect!

The sponsor's delightful shamrock image has been printed in green, and trimmed, then chalked with multiple greens. I created a wee little bow from a scrap of ribbon... yes a scrap.  I disassembled a lingerie bow to see how they were made, and copied it.  I will be creating little bows like this forever!  So easy! I'll never tie another little bow again! I coloured the ribbon with my alcohol marker (the ribbon was actually pale pink! How's that for recycling... it actually turned GREEN)!  After stitching it onto the shamrock, I added a rhinestone, and also to the four corners of the prayer layer.

I am also sharing this card in these challenges:
Hiding in my Craft Room - #87 Greens (9/3)
Created With Love - Anything Goes (10/3)
Digi Darla - Green (10/3)
Eureka Stamps - 2 of Everything (12/3) (used 2 papers/card, 2 digis, 2 bellies)
Digi Haven - Green (15/3)
Scrappy Frogs - Green/St Patrick's Day (6/4)

The design team showcased some  fabulous images from our sponsor this week, so I hope we can inspire you to join us in our RIBBONS AND BOWS Challenge at TWIST OF FAITH CARDS! Thanks for peepin'!

Hello Pauline. This is so beautiful and very delicate. I love the design and colour, and I just adore the verse as the main focal point, so very classy.

Great great great card! Love how the whole prayer is showcased. This is near and dear to me for my Dad's name is Francis. Pretty sure he is a living, breathing example of this prayer daily. :) Thanks for sharing with us at Digi Darla's this week.
