Fractured Partridge Family

Another week over... what a week... thankfully doctor's appointments, in or out of town, but gruelling none the less ... Behaviour backslides, more meltdowns and episodes, and some new emotions for Bec to deal with ... poor thing just doesn't know how to, so it makes our day even harder.  Getting her used to new medications is difficult, although we've seen improvement, but I guess it always needs 'tweaking'.

We're experiencing an incredibly hot and dry heat for March... we're in Autumn, but you'd swear it was the middle of summer. So we're all hot and tired, and sleepy, and hopefully the grumpy monster won't show it's face!

And wow... the NINTH week of the Gratitude Journal Challenge! The digi of this week's Scripture, I created myself, using James 1:2...  although I wasn't completely happy with this version (NLT) out of context, it did suit the images I chose to use perfectly. As a stand alone scripture, I much prefer the version Antoinette has created....  it is more descriptive and consise... an explanatory scripture!

My 8x8 journal page uses two fabulous images from Dearie Dolls this time, being Smile (on the left) and Big Girls Don't Cry (on the right). I have used TLC striped paper, and plain black for the matts.  Using the striped paper as a colour scheme, I was going to use just a plain white base page... but it looked too stark.  I thought of criss-crossing black stripes to balance out the horizontal stripes on the coloured paper. But still, it looked too stark.  So, I thought about colouring in the shapes I had created, using complimentary or similar colours to those stripes. Instead of stark white, I've ended up with a fractured look, which reminds me of the Partridge Family bus!
(I apologise for the blurred appearance of the scripture, using the large size of the picture.)
I mostly coloured the image with alcohol markers, and a few Marvys as well, oh and gold glitter pen on the boys shirt-star. After fixing all to the base page, I added some red rhinestones to the image layer. I was going to add some daisy-like paper flowers, but it took too much from the fractured Partridge Family.

This page is in way more geometric style than I would normally use.  But when  I had 'it' I was happy with it. Yikes, I can hear the Partridge Family singing their theme song....

I'm also sharing this at Word Art Wednesday #70 .... and at V's Sweet Ideas (Masculine Challenge)...

Come join us in the hosted challenge at Inspired Stamps (thank you Antoinette for providing us with such inspiring scriptures!) ...thanks for peepin'!

This card is absolutely adorable, Pauline. I love the image a lot, and even though it has both boys and girls in the image, you could easily link this up in the masculine card challenge this month at V's Sweet Ideas. We would LOVE to have you share it there for another chance to win. It's really sweet and thanks so much for sharing it in our challenge.
Blessings to you,
Karen
