2013 Journal of Gratitude - week 8

While writing this post, I'm grateful this week is ended... a week of out of town doctor's appointments, in town doctors appointments, and scheduling more for the weeks to come.  It is exhausting.  Athough we've had some backslides with Becky's episodes, they aren't as severe for her, but just as emotional and draining for both her and the rest of the house... but still, we have seen improvement.

So as I write, it is with sleepy-eyed and heavy-sighed gratitude.

The digi of this week's Scripture, I have created myself, using Durteronomy 31:8...  quite a powerful scripture.  It reminded me of a responsorial psalm... I love responsorial psalms, because they are so directed in communicative prayer... I find them so moving. So with that in mind, I added brackets as if it were a conversation or response ...

I have used another fabulous image from Create with TLC, this time, a background paper, that I have used as the main image of my journal page.  When I found this image in my collection, apart from it being in my favourite colour, I thought it offered the perfect placement for the scripture.  My image layer consists of the image and scripture, and is matted only with a single square black paper. On a similarly matted 6x6 page, I added my image, fixed with foam tape to live it above the page.  The swirly flourishes on the page are clear embossed, but it doesn't show clearly here.

After fixing all to the base page, I added some chocolate brown pearls... oh, and some tiny emerald green pearls to the flower centres...

This page is in a much more CAS style than I would normally use.  I don't know what took lead, but there was certainly no over-thinking involved in it's layout.  Once the idea came, that was it... no change, no 'what if', just simple. Perhaps the feeling of responsiveness in the scripture had me shift the focus of an embellished page to the scripture for pure, un-distracted mediation...

I'm also sharing this at Word Art Wednesday #69 ....

Come join us in the hosted challenge at Inspired Stamps (thank you Antoinette!) ...thanks for peepin'!

This is lovely Pauline, I like the nice simple design and the beautiful daffodils. The swirls in the background are gorgeous and give the card a lovely touch of class.
Cheers,
Beccy
