2013 Gratitude Journal - week 3

So here I was (again!) at the end of the week without my creation for my  gratitude journal page... coloured but still awaiting construction.  I then  surprised myself, by completing even some creations for next week, and colouring some more! I am really loving this year-long event, and Antoinette at Inspired Stamps as selected such wonderful scriptures to work with!

I decided that I should move away from the art journal book I was using, and instead work with an 8x8 scrapbook.  So I purchased enough page pockets for 52 weeks, and then spent all Friday night trying to undo the post to refill the album.  One of the posts will not loosen at all, so I'm afraid it's back to the shop tomorrow to get another album, and repurpose the current one (a beautiful olive green cover!) for an event album that doesn't need refill pages!

In creating my third page to my gratitude journal, I've used the scripture that was set for week 2 (because last week, I mistakenly created with week 3 scripture.  I used a gorgeous image from the delightful Doodle Garden.

Having a little more of my craft stash with me this weekend, I used some wonderful distressed papers in vintage dots.

I've used again, a square image layer, colouring the image with chalks and markers, and using chalks for the background.  I tried to keep the image in similar colours to the paper, well, at least not too contrasting! After fixing the image layer down, I added some wee cream brads along the fence.  Before fixing to the page, I added two lengths of ribbon, olive velvet atop cream organza, wrapping the papers together.

As well as linking this into the hosted challenge at Inspired Stamps (thank you Antoinette!) I am also linking this up at Word Art Wednesday #64.....thanks for peepin'!

All creation truly sings of His marvellous deeds! I just love this joyful bird stamp you've used and the fence details to! So glad that you've been having some crafting time even though you've had to fiddle with getting just the right album details working together.
