Patterns at #47 Card Crafters Circle

It will be a fun challenge this week at Card Crafter's Circle ... our theme is one of my favourites...  PATTERNED PAPERS!

We are sponsored by the wonderful Bugaboo Stamps, who offers our random prize winner their choice of SEVEN digital images! Have fun only choosing only 7!  I created this week using the Kidz Boy - Hot Air Balloon image....  as soon as I saw this image, I knew I wanted to paper piece it... or at least the balloon!  I had a wonderful paper set, some paper covered in coloured stars, and others with an almost 'bunting' pattern...

On a pale blue cardbase, I've layered wheat cardstock, orange, then brown papers, finishing with the triangular bunting patterned paper for the background. I printed the image on white cardstock to be coloured later, and then printed the balloon part several times on the patterned star paper, for piecing... I was hoping for a patched effect.  After a lot of cutting and overlaying pieces to achieve some texture,  I fussy cut the image, and cut the balloon from the boy in the basket (coloured with Spectrum Noirs and Pro Marker Aqua).  I cut away the balloon ropes, and replaced them with brown threads... threaded fro the balloon to the boy (and fixed to follow the image lines) then to the basket.. after fixing the balloon to the papers with foam tape, the boy swings independently.  Finishing off, I added brown pearls to the corners.

This card is also being entered into the challenge at
C.R.A.F.T. Challenges #179 Birthday (6/11)
Stampin With The Dragon  Birthday (7/11)
By the Cute And Girly - Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (30/11)

I hope you'll join with us in our challenge this week, and show us your PATTERNED PAPERS creations! Thanks for peepin'!

Greetings from Belgrade, Serbia.
I'm a big fan of all the art and crafts, especially the works of pressed flowers, greeting cards, bookmarker, and I like decoupage.
I'm extremely impressed with your work, but I have neither the material nor the tools to be able to create such beauty as you.
Belgrade have very little materials and tools for the hobby, and what there is,it is very expensive and of poor quality. Everything I do, I work with my fingers, scissors and glue to use plain paper, or wood glue. I do not have to drill or glue paper ruller, not all the tools and materials you see here and the video clips on youtube.
By the way, I am a judge, and work hard, so i don't have inough time for crafts.
I'd like to look at my work and give your feedback.
Sorry for my bad english.
