This IS the Day!

Sound the trumpets.... Twist of Faith Card Challenges is up and running today! Right now!  Our first challenge has just gone live.  It's been a long time coming to fruition... I've been toying about a card challenge blog specifically for Christian cards, or cards that are encouraging and uplifting... something really positive to share.  That's our 'twist'... the card creations must share a scripture or inspiring sentiment...  Heaven knows I've needed something like this for a long time (I don't blog about my 'personal' struggles and issues)and with a lot of personal decisions, reorganisation, with hills and dales to climb to get here, I finally have!

First up I want to thank Mary Ellen of Dearie Dolls, a dear friend, who has designed some delightful badges, and our beautiful banner for us.  And my design team... we'll they are nothing short of AWESOME!  Come on over and meet them!

Our first is themed Joy. We want you to share a creation at our challenge blog that will share Joy with the recipient.  Our sponsor is The Doodle Garden, and Jennifer has such delightful hand-drawn images!

I shared a scripture in the challenge post, one of my favourites...

This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad  in it. Psalm 118-24 NIV

and decided to use that on this card, which has a Happy Birthday message inside...

On a white cardbase, I have layered a blue patterned paper, covered in birthday messages, and butterflies, on which sits two layers of the same vintage distressed floral paper.  The centre 'layer' is turned for colour contrast.  Anyhoo, I created a wee digi sentiment using Psalm 118:24 and printed it directly onto the top layer of paper (with a few test runs on a thin paper).  All the layers were fixed together with the cardbase, and I fussy cut some flowers from an offcut, to add to the bottom left corner... leaving the leaf edges free for a bit of depth.

My image, Garden Angel, has been coloured with markers, chalks, and accented with glitter pens.  I fussy cut her along with her watering can, fixed the watering can flat, and used foam tape to adhere the angel on top.  I finished with ice blue rhinestones om the corners.   I left it a reasonably CAS card, because I like to contrast of the text and distressed flowers in the papers... all of which contrast with the still of the sweet angel!

I am also entering this creation into these challenges
Cupcake Craft #208 Colour Inspiration (10/9)
Tammy's Scrappin Corner #26 Anything With Wings (10/9)
Crafty Cardmakers #74 Things With Wings (16/9)

Come join our challenge, create something to share some Joy, and maybe you'll be our random prize winner, who will receive the TWO as yet UNRELEASED images we have showcased for you!  Come share your Twist of Faith!  Thanks for peepin'!
