#39 Sweet as Cherry Pie

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear our theme for this week's challenge at Card Crafter's Circle is that great song from the 1980's from Warrant.... She's My Cherry Pie. I guess I'm just an 80s girl because they were my formative teen years.

Anyway, our challenge this week, is themed SWEET AS CHERRY PIE.

We are sponsored by the wonderful Bugaboo Stamps, who offers our random prize winner their choice of SEVEN digital images! Have fun only choosing only 7!

I created this week using the Picnic Ant - Pie image.... love this one, and can't wait to create it as a pumpkin pie! My favourite!

On a 'wheat' cardbase, I've layered brown, and floral and gingham prints. I guess the gingham looks a little like a picnic cloth too!  I've edged that print with a little pen work.  The image is coloured with markers and glitter pens... and the white whipped cream isn't coloured at all... the fork is silver thanks to a metallic gel pen.  I fussy cut the image, and cut the pie from the ant. The ant is fixed flat to the papers, and the pie is lifted with foam tape.  I've penned in the ant's legs, arms and antennae, and added a black pearl for the end of the cherry stem.  To finish off, I added black square rhinestones to the corners, and a satin ribbon bow, with a red button sewn down.

This card is also being entered into the challenge at
Just Inspirational Challenges #44 (12/9)

I hope you'll join with us in our challenge this week, and show us your SWEET AS CHERRY PIE creations! Thanks for peepin'!

Well, this is a wonderful little card. I smile every time I see that little ant. I'm sure he has "crashed" the picnic and is helping himself to the delicious delights. You've done a ver nice job!
