Elliot the Gnome

In just a few days time, I'me off on a trip to a warmer climate, so I sure hope I get the blog scheduling right!

This week's challenge #36 at the Card Crafter's Circle... is all about

RICH AND EARTHY COLOURS

We are delighted to have our sponsor  The Digi Garden joining us again! The challenge winner will have their choice of 6 black/white images as their prize... and there are so many yummy images to choose from!

I created with a sweet image.... Elliot the Gnome... and although this card was meant for a little boy, the pinks seemed to have leapt to life in the picture here... they really aren't that bright at all! So I guess my colours lean towards the rich, rather than earthy...

I coloured the image with markers, and highlighted with metallic and glitter pens. Then I fussy cut the image, and I couldn't resist adding googly eyes... at first they were directed towards his fishies!

I created some layers with multiple papers... brown and then stripes on which I had printed the sentiment. I then cut a leaf/flower and faux stitched borders from a co-ordinating cutout page, and fixed them all together.  Before I added the image to the matts, I took some embroidery thread and fixed on the wee little fishies... they don't dangle freely, as I used DS tape behind the fish, so they don't flip out!

Do come see the fabulous inspiration our design team has created to inspire you, and I hope you'll join us at the Card Crafter's Circle in the challenge this week!  Thanks for peepin'!

Wonderful little scene for your little guy to go fishing in! Great stitching accents!
