#34 Bend Me Shape Me...

I hate it when I think I've done something, and then something unrelated reminds me that I haven't done what I thought I had done... yes, I managed to miss another personal blog post.... I had the challenge post set all good and well, and completely forgot my personal post.  I can't even say that I left it set on 'draft' ... I plum didn't do it! Argh! So here goes..

This week at Card Crafter's Circle, our #34 challenge for you is SHAPED CARDS.  We want you to think outside the square and rectangle. We are sponsored by MelJen's Designs and Stamp Art Design by Kathryne (both offering a prize of 4 digis for two random winners) ...

I created my shaped card using the Resting Loon image from Stamp Art Design by Kathryne.

I have printed the image and changed it's colour settings in MS Word - the white parts of the original image are now 'aged' a speckled off-white.  I coloured it's beak, eye and feathers with glitter pens and metallic pens, and fussy cut the image.  I fixed the top half of the image to a cardbase made of handmade paper/card, and then fussy cut... the card is hinged at the left.  I then created a layer of hessian fabric ( I removed some outer threads) and fixed it to the cardbase, then added some wee chocolate pearls.  I then fixed the lower portion of the image.

Although it is still a larger than normal card, it doesn't leave much space inside for a message... but it looks good sitting on the shelf!

So I hope you'll grab your scissors, templates and die cutters, and join us in our SHAPED CARD CHALLENGE at the Card Crafter's Circle this week!  Thanks for peepin'!

Hi Pauline,
This is such a beautiful card and I love what you came up with this week with this bird!!! I'm going to have to find some hessian, as it makes such a wonderful background!!The green just makes it!!

Hi Pauline! Great card! Love the shape idea. The "aging" is very unique. The hessian fabric is awesome and I like the nest'y kind-of look that the loon is "sitting on". Thanks for another lovely challenge and the joy of sponsoring. xx Kathy
