It's construction time!

This week at Card Crafter's Circle, our themed challenge asks you to create a CONSTRUCTION CARD ... that is, something other than a single or gate-fold card ... it could be a step card, waterfall, easel card, shaped card - whatever you can construct!

Our sponsor is Milk Coffee .... gorgeous images, and so generous... three digis for the challenge winner, and one each for the Top 3!

I decided to create a handbag card...

using a basic template for the bag, I cut out two shapes from different patterned paper (thick).  I adhered them back to back, to form the card, so the inside would be a contrasting pattern to the front. I used strips of the inside pattern to create trim for the front of the card, and for the fold-over flap.  In the same patterned trim, I double sided two strips to create a handle. I created a faux clasp by fixing two buttons together (and I was so glad to find buttons that matched my paper colours!). I also added a rubon at the bottom of the bag.

When the bag is opened out, it reveals a patterned paper that resembles a bed of flowers (at least that's what I think!)... I thought this pattern was the perfect placement for the Milk Coffee image that I used ... although she is praying with her hands clasped, I imagined her praying in a bed of flowers, or swirling round and round in her billowing dress, in a field of flowers just like they do in the movies....

The image is coloured with markers and a water pen... the flowers in her hair are glitter pen.  I also added Irridescent Ice Stickles to her dress, although it doesn't show in the picture, sorry!  So it looks as if she is praying... lifted with foam tape... but if you give her a spin, you'll find she spins too! My little take on a spinner card, which was my original plan.
