Healing Flowers

I'm sharing a special card today.  Special to me because of it's scripture message, and special because of the person who will receive it. I'm  not sharing any other details, because it hasn't been mailed yet (but it will today).

I've not gone overboard with lumpy embellishments, because the powers-that-be (aka the Post Office and Customs) get a bit grumpy with lumpy greetings cards going overseas.... poking and prodding... athough they might still be delivered, I'd rather send a flattie and know that it will arrive, rain, hail, or shine!

Ingredients: Yellow Cardbase; Core'dinations card; Decorating Chalks; Watercolour Pencils; Digi Floral image; Digi Scripture (TLC); Apricot Pearls...

From the ground up, I have a matte yellow cardbase, and a green Core-dinations layer, which I have sandpapered to reveal it's lighter core. The image has been compiled using a Floral Scroll image, and a Scripture from Create With TLC.  (I can't for the life of me remember where the freebie Floral Scroll is from, so if anyone can identify it for me, I can credit the proper person!)

I have coloured the image with chalks, and for the wee fiddly bits, I dashed with watercolour pencils/water. After fixing this layer to the card, it looked rather stark surrounded by white, so I blended in yellow chalks to fill (the colours are far more intense on-screen, and do not look as mottled on the card). The scroll has been lightly brushed with sepia chalk, for an aged look, but oddly enough, it doesn't seem to show onscreen!  I finished the corners with apricot pearls.

I personally don't think this card needed any embellishments anyway. The sentiment stands out boldly - as it should - and the stamped flowers around are absolutely stunning. I am sure this card will be very much appreciated.

I love using scripture too. In my opinion it's one of the most unique ways to be a missionary!
