Happy Birthday, For Fun Challenges!

Wowie.... For Fun Challenges is a year old.  What wonderful friendships and projects have been created there! An awesome place to play..... and it shows in last week's challenge where we had 115 entries!
This week is a real thrill for me, as our challenge sponsor is the fabulous life force of artiste extrordinaire, Michelle Perkett, of Michelle Perkett Studios (why the thrill? I love her images, and I'm on her design team too!)  We were provided with awesome images for our Birthday celebration and Birthday themed challenge! Here's a little about Michelle...

Michelle is an artist who believes the world can always us more kindness, innocence, inspiration and color. She lives in Southern California, and has an incredibly unique, and positively happy style in her art. She has a magical store filled with angels, fairies, mermaids, and other wonderful images, bound to delight you!

Michelle’s first love is her art. She has run her art business for over 6 years and is spreading worldwide with Etsy and her devoted crafters. She lives the way she creates her art; with love, happiness, peace, harmony, joy, friendship, kindness and inspiration and hopes that she inspires other people to do the same.

Here is my birthday creation using Michelle's Queen of Hearts Birthday Girl image....

Other Ingredients:  Paper - Creative Memories; Stardust Pens - Sakura - Gel Pens - Signo; Sienna Aqua Marker - Letraset; Pearls, Orange Rhinestones, Diamond Rhinstones - Kaisercraft; Organza Rose - Ribtex; Dotted Orange Ribbon - Dottys Craft; Red Heart Gem - mobile phone bling.

Lots of colouring here - with various pens, and an Aquash water pen. What can I say, I love sparkle! So of course I added lots of pearls on her dress, and shoes, and rhinestones on her crown, and dress, and to the corners.  The image is then matted on orange, and ribbon detail added, with an organza rose, that I touched with orange marker.  Matted on yellow, the whole shebang is added to a white cardbase.... and there she is, ready for her Birthday Party!

Do come along and join the Birthday Party challenge at For Fun this week - we have TWO random winners this week... one will receive the 4 awesome birthday images the Design Team has used (thank you Michelle!) and the other winner will receive something special from our challenge blog owner, Helen..... I haven an inkling of what it might be.... but I just love surprises....
I've also entered this in the challenge at MPS - it's not my week to create an inspiration piece .... but I can't win as I'm on the design team (but doesn't that already make me a winner?) Thanks for peepin'!

Since I'm commenting on the challenge entries before it closes, I guess I can comment on my own creation? What FUN I had creating this image - it's one of my favourites from MPS....
