The image we played with this week for the
Designed 2 Delight Digital Stamps challenge SO reminded me of a Valentine box of chocolates! I couldn't decided what to do with this card - make a chocolate box? or a valentine? So I compromised with myself (can one person do that?) and used the colours for the chocolate box idea, and added frilled lace for the valentine!
Ingredients: Cardstock - SU!; Paper - Kaisercraft; Stardust Pens - Sakura; Paper Flowers - Bizzy Bec's; scrap lace.
The heart image was coloured with red and gold stardust pens, and a water brush... since the gold came out on the 'antique' side, of colour, I decided to go with olive green for the rest of the card. I cut a wide strip of patterned paper and fixed scalloped lace to the back, then fixed it down the centre of the card. I then added pearls along the paper to finish the edges.
The lace I used was quite wide, and had two different edges (I had already used the other edge on another card)... I didn't like the scallop edge of the lace running round the heart, so I used the rough cut edge instead... as I adhered the lace to the card, I was pleating it to give it a frilly look. I fixed the heart to the card with foam tape, and arranged the rose and buds in behind the heart. Although there is still room for a sentiment, I like it as is. Thanks for peepin'!
