Please, Let It Snow!

I so wish I was in a winter Christmas.... I know Australia has Christmas in summer, but I so hate the heat!  So as you can imagine, creating this card, with this adorable StretchNBubbles Squared Penguin image, all I can think about is snow.... and more snow.... and more snow....

Ingredients: Cardstock - Rosies; Stardust & Glaze Pens - Sakura; Chalk - Pebbles Inc;  Glitter Glue - Papermania; Rhinestones - Kaisercraft; Rhinestone Hearts - mobile phone bellies!; Ribbon; Glittered Button.

I first coloured the background with blue chalk - unevenly hoping to replicate clouds as well.  All I wanted to do was cover this little fellow in glitter and rhinestones.  So I coloured him with Stardust pens so he shimmers and glitters.  His beak is glaze pen, so it looks wet.  I added rhinestones over the round falling snowflakes, and heart shaped ones to the hearts in the image at the penguin's feet.  I then matted him on navy textured card, and covered the mat with glitter glue.

I then gussied up a scrap to make a border, threaded the button on the ribbon, gave it a twist and secured it to the scrap card, and adhered it to the cardbase.  On popped the penguin, and there he is!  This will be a birthday card for a nephew, and the inside sentiment will read something like Happy Birthday, Cool Dude!

You can find this image at the SNB shop, so go take a look! (and she sings.... Oh the weather outside is frightful, it'll reach 112 before nightfall ... the hot winds just blow and blow .... Let it Snow... Let it Snow...  LET IT SNOW!) Thanks for peepin'!

Such a cute card Pauline :) I can't imagine Christmas in the heat of Australia, and although we moan about the inconvenience of the snow, it is something special I agree. Happy New Year........hugs, from Ali xx

Lovely card Pauline! Totally awesome!
Maybe we can trade places next Christmas? You can celebrate it in cold and snowy Sweden (we have more than 60 centimeters where I live) and I can have a sunny and hot Christmas ;)
