Colouring For Fun!

This week's challenge at For Fun is to employ your favourite colouring technique.  I am definitely a fence-sitter here, because I can't decide which colouring medium is my favourite!  I love my pens, markers, pencils, acrylics, watercolours, chalks....so since I've been using chalks quite a bit recently, I decided I would use chalks in my creation here for you.

Ingredients: Metallic Brown CS, Papers - Kaisercraft; Lily Digi Image - Soft Pencil; Bright & Pearlescent Chalks - Pebbles Inc; Mini Brads - Inque Boutique; Satin Bias Binding, Rhinestones.

I trimmed the image, and removed sections between the petals.  The chalks... matte dark colours were streaked first, followed by layers of lighter oranges, yellows and golds in Pearlescent.

The image is delicately shaded - aiding my colouring to achieve depth in the flower.  I dusted the black leaves with pearl green, which doesn't show here.

I created the layers of paper and fixed a strip of satin ribbon, added brads to the corners, and fixed it to the card.  I fixed the image to the card, using tape to adhere the lower sections of the image flat, and used foam tape in the higher petals, to lift the image off the card.  I added the rhinestones, and voila! C'est fin!

Thanks for peeping, and I hope you'll join us in our colouring challenge at For Fun this week!

hugs and blessings,
Pauline

Oh Pauline, this is absolutely beautiful. Fantastic job of using the chalks and I love the way the lily pops on the card.
