I had a great-aunt (and she was great in every sense of the word!) ... and when I found this vintage picture, it reminded me of my Great Aunt Pearl. Aunt Pearl demanded proper behaviour without being militant, she commanded greatness in everything she did, and her presence filled the room to overflowing.
So, when I found that the Allsorts Challenge #47 was all about Petals and Pearls, I found the perfect excuse to create a vintage card using that sweet vintage picture!
Ingredients used in this card:
Cream Cardbase, Core'dinations Vintage CS, a vintage Fabric square, vintage Crochet lace, Cream gathered lace, Flatback Pearls, Flatback Pearl strip, Flatback Rhinestones, a Paper Flower, brown ink.
I worked this card 'backwards'... I dressed the image first, then set it aside, and attended to the mat ... I Inked the edges, added the fabric square, and the crochet lace. I adhered the semi-finished mat to the cardbase, then adhered the dressed image on top. After placement of those pieces, I could see where I wanted the final embellishments, being the pearls on the image, the rhinestones on the fabric, and where to place the flower. Although it can't be clearly seen in the photo, there is a large pearl in the centre of the flower ... it's 99.9% hidden by the scalloped lace edging....Thanks for looking!
Hugs and blessings,
Pauline

Hi Pauline
This is just adorable very much my sor of project.
And see you worked it the same as I do "Backwards". I know lots of people work the other way, but I usually find it works best this way for me.
Thank you so much for joining in my Petals and Pearls theme at Allsorts this week.
