What fun I had creating for the challenge at For Fun Challenges this week! If you don't already know, our challenge this week is for your creation to include a crocheted flower, and is being sponsored by Little Claire Designs (woohoo!)
So.... back to the story....first up I tried my hand at actually crocheting some flowers. I'm not good at crochet. Heck, I can knit HOLES!!! What was I thinking .... me crochet? Good grief! Strictly speaking the only crochet I'm good with is a musical one (yeah yeah, bad word pun, but musical chicks will get it!)...
So I got my dear Mum to create some for me instead. Cheat. Mmmm.... rules didn't stipulate the flowers must be constructed into the card, or attached to the card.... so I didn't.... using the Camelia Corner image from Little Claire.... I created this card and earrings.....
Ingredients: Cardstock - Kaszazz, DCWV; Markers - Marvy Le Plume; Stardust Pens - Sakura; Gold Peel off Sentiment and corners - Upikit; Crocheted Flowers - Me Dear Ole' Ma'; French Ear Hooks - Feelin' Inspired...
I use crochet flowers and ribbon flowers (yes, I can make those!) in my jewellery creations, so I thought why not incorporate them into a card! Had I not matted and constructed a card, I could have used the coloured image layer as a notecard, or gussied it to become a large gift tag. I coloured the image to try and match the colours of the flowers... they do, but the camera flash dissolved the image colour... the earrings pierce the top two layers, which is attached with raised foam tape, to allow space for the earhooks. I like this as a way of gift presentation, and I think I'll use it again!
I've also entered this into the following challenges around the blogosphere...

Crazy Amigo - Lazy Days (12/7)
